We went to Vejer de la Frontera for a nice little walk in the Barbate Park, namely a patch of coastal vegetation on the cliffs between the estuary of the Barbate river and Cape Trafalgar.

Exactly. It is in the waters off this coast the actual spot were Admiral Horatio Nelson defeated the combined fleet of France and Spain in the memorable battle of 1805.

Abbiamo fatto tappa a Vejer de la Frontera per il piacere di passeggiare nel Parco di Barbate, essenzialmente un’area di macchia mediterranea sulle scogliere che si innalzano a picco tra l’estuario del fiume Barbate e Capo Trafalgar. Esattamente, al largo di queste acque, è dove l’ammiraglio Orazio Nelson sconfisse la flotta congiunta di Francia e Spagna, nel 1805.
